Introduction to our Co-Founders:
Our senior Co-Founder, Jakes, has in excess of 40 years’ experience in design & planning, providing carpentry installations across home residence’s, for small business’ and shops, this includes managing and advising on the tiling, plumbing, electrical and layout.
Our junior Co-Founder, A.V., brings a new age dimension to this small business, by putting forward more data & technology enablement in the approach to renovations, this includes, computer aided design, installation of security camera’s, smart home enablement across the property and experience in “getting off the grid”.

Our consultations inform the costing and timeframe, and we unpack the long- and short-term requirements, explore and understand any future plans to expand, for example, is the property for re-sale, or personal use.
With our shop and business owners, we bring in the element of portability should shop fittings be required to be moved when lease agreements end or if the owner wishes to relocate.

Design
With all good things in life, planning and design is crucial. During our consultations and design phase, we ensure we have the correct understanding of your needs, and can advise on space saving aspects, portability, and ensuring the setup is fit-for-purpose and fit-for-future. Measurements, selection of materials, colour schemes and budgets & timelines are covered in our design phase.
Carpentry
Having started in this field, our main focus was carpentry. Jakes started off as a one-man show back in the early 90’s and is a self-trained carpenter having done over 100 homes, from kitchens, to bedroom suites and customised headboards, to living and dining room units and tables.
Tiling
As our clients recognised the quality of our work, we were consulted on various other areas of renovations, this included tiling, for kitchens, bathrooms across the property floor tiling, etc. We provide guidance on colours and designs of tiles to maximise space constraints, and we have done full floor tiles, bathrooms and showers. This includes the plumbing and electrical aspects associated to the request.
Our Recent Projects
Due to Covid-19, we were limited to only a handful of projects that we could deliver on. In the past 6 months we have seen an increase in these projects as more and more people are required to adopt a hybrid work model and require more office space, or a space for home-schooling children.
During 2020 we were able to continue working on a full apartment renovation, once lock down restrictions were eased.
We completely stripped the apartment, and fitted in new floor tiles, full kitchen units, and re-did both bathrooms and the bedroom cupboards. One of the items that was not initially requested, was the refurbishment of the wooden floor in the upstairs loft, which we also covered in the project.
We also designed, manufactured, installed a full kitchen, with granite tops for a residence in the Midrand area.
Once this was done, we were then requested to come up with an idea for a play/ study area, where the residence had limited space, and came up with the “hidden” play/study area for the family’s young child.
